In this work, I am developing a Discontinuous Galerkin method that couples the global and local flow models. This method enables merging grids with highly variable resolutions, and enrich only the local model.

The above figures show instantaneous vortices identified by the Q-criterion. The shedding vortices in the wake and the horseshoe vortices in the front are successfully captured.

The above figures show the dispersion of mass, such as air contaminants, around the building. The dispersion is modeled using an advection-diffusion equation, where the eddy diffusivity is calculated through variational multiscale analysis.
