The immersed boundary (IB) method is applied to moving boundary problems. The Dirichlet boundary conditions are weakly imposed at the moving boundaries via the developed interfacial formulation. One of the main advantages of the IB method is that it does not suffer from distorting elements without re-meshing around a moving boundary.
